<Biography>

He received the B.E., M.E. and Ph.D. degrees in control engineering and science from Kyushu Institute of Technology, Japan, in 1992, 1994 and 2000, respectively. He is currently with the Graduate School of Sciences and Technology for Innovation, Yamaguchi University, Japan, where he is a professor. He is a member of the IEEE, OSA, and IEICE and is the author of more than 100 papers in a number of journals and more than 150 conference papers.

Digital image/video processing techniques in diverse researches and application fields have been studied so far. Especially, the importance of the techniques concerning the quality improvement of image/video has been increased according to the wide spread use of various digital equipment. Prof. Suetake works on a variety of problems in image and video quality improvement covering ground in both theory and applications. His areas of research include: “color barrier-free transform, E“color transform for elderly person, E “blind deconvolution, E“fast color2gray, E“color transfer, E“video halftoning, E “inverse halftonoing, E“image denoising, E“image dehazing, E“image enhancement, E “image sharpening, E“image super resolution Eand so on. His ultimate goal is to improve human quality of life through the development and use of advanced image processing technologies.
